Patronal Church of Simat since the seventeenth century, built in the seventeenth century in Baroque style, the Church of San Miguel Arcangel was formerly the site of a Muslim mosque. After the expulsion of the Moors it was converted into a Christian church, carrying out a reconstruction and choosing San Miguel as the patron saint of the town.
The church has an austere facade and elevated steps to access it. It has a Latin cross plan with a large central nave and two small aisles with two altars. The main altar stands out for the image of San Miguel and there is also a chapel attached to the church with the image of the Santísimo Cristo de la Fe.
Iglesia Patronal de Simat desde el siglo XVII, construida en el sigo XVII en estilo Barroco, la Iglesia de San Miguel Arcángel fue antiguamente el lugar de una mezquita musulmana. Después de la expulsión de los Moriscos fue convertida en una iglesia cristiana, llevando a cabo una reconstrucción y eligiendo a San Miguel como el patrón de la población.
La iglesia tiene una fachada austera y graderías elevadas para acceder a ella. Tiene planta de cruz latina con una gran nave central y dos pequeñas naves laterales con dos altares. El altar principal destaca por la imagen de San Miguel y existe también una capilla adosada a la iglesia con la imagen del Santísimo Cristo de la Fe.
