Description

North of Burgos, is the green Valley of Mena, a valley made up of 59 towns or local entities, of great cultural wealth and natural. One of these treasures is El Camino Real de las Enderrozas or Camino Real
de Ordunte, a historic road that connects the towns of Irús and Arceo. The road runs parallel to the Hijuela river and its spectacular waterfalls in times of heavy rain and snowfall. They are conserved
several files in which the constant need to repair this due to the numerous flooding of the rivers, which deteriorated or dragged the road structure, including bridges. Repair work on this road
they are continuous and very expensive from the mid-16th century onwards. In the Today, the best-preserved section of this historic road, between the towns of
Irús and Arceo, has been signposted as a hiking route.
